Child Care and Development Division

Monthly Member Child Care Referral and Resource Meeting
Date: First Tuesday of the month
Time: 10 a.m. – noon
Details: A monthly webinar for members of the California Child Care Resource & Referral Network to provide support and resources. The California Child Care Resource & Referral Network is a non-profit organization helping to make reliable child care more affordable and accessible for families in California.

Community Care Licensing Division

Upcoming Administrator Certification Bureau Webinar
Date: June 4
Time: 1 p.m.
Details: The Community Care Licensing Division provides notification that the Administrator Certification Bureau (ACB) will be hosting a webinar for administrators and administrator certification program training vendors. ACB will be hosting a webinar to provide updates on the Administrator Certification online application portal and Phase 2 development, application processing, and website enhancements. In-Person and Live Virtual Orientations for Family Child
Date: June 12
Time: 8:30 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Details: The Community Care Licensing Division, Child Care Program (CCP), plans to host orientations for prospective Family Child Care Home (FCCH) providers to attend either an in-person session or a live virtual orientation. The in-person orientations are instructor-led and offered in multiple languages. These sessions are open to attendees in any Regional Office, with advance registration. The virtual orientations are instructor-led and will be live streamed through Zoom. Children's Residential Program
2024 Statewide Quarterly Provider Meetings
Dates:

  • May 23
  • August 22
  • November 21

Time:

  • Congregate Care Providers: 10 a.m.-noon
  • Foster Family Agencies: 1-3 p.m.

Details: Agency leadership and direct care staff are encouraged to attend. All stakeholders are welcome. Topics include: Provider Information Notices (PINs); policy updates on chaptered legislation; other presentations and topics of interest.

Adult and Senior Care Program
Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly (RCFE) Advocacy Coalition Meeting
Dates:

  • July 15
  • October 14

Time: 1-3 p.m.
Details: These meetings are intended for resident advocacy organizations/associations to discuss broad policy, regulatory and statutory issues impacting RCFEs. There may be additional opportunities for external partners to engage with the Department via local outreach through Regional Offices.

Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly (RCFE) Provider Meeting

Details: These meetings are for provider organizations/associations that represent licensees of RCFEs to discuss broad policy, regulatory and statutory issues impacting RCFEs. There may be additional opportunities for external partners to engage with the Department via local outreach through Regional Offices.

Motivational Interviewing (MI) Implementation and Training Planning Webinar
Date: May 9 (Central)
Time: 2:30 – 4 p.m. (Central)
Details: The CDSS, in partnership with the Child and Family Policy Institute of California and the different Regional Training Academies, has been meeting to discuss statewide implementation of Motivational Interviewing. Regional webinars will be provided in different regions to provide updates to counties regarding the MI proposal and Needs Assessment.

From The Ground, Up Regional Survey Team (RST) Meeting Los Angeles

Details: The Los Angeles RST meeting is to engage stakeholders to discuss California's child welfare system strengths and areas needing improvement in order to identify possible solutions and work to be done in the future.

Bringing Families Home (BFH)
Date: May 16
Time: 2-3 p.m.
Details: The purpose of these meetings is to provide a space for counties, Tribes, and contracted provider agencies of local BFH programs to share their innovative ideas and best practices and ask questions of one another related to operating a BFH housing program. Grantees of BFH provide housing supports and services to children and families in the child welfare system who are at-risk of or are experiencing homelessness.

Peer Partner Hubs

Details: The Peer Partner Hubs are a safe space for peer partners (including youth advocates and parent advocates) with lived experience in child and family-serving organizations to network and support one another, share information and learning opportunities, and provide feedback to organizations, counties, and CDSS for system improvement.

Wraparound Steering Committee Meetings

Details: The purpose of the California Wraparound Steering Committee is to develop a collaborative California Wraparound community that seeks to build continuity in practice and improve equitable safety, wellbeing and permanency outcomes for children and families through the provision of high-fidelity Wraparound programs.

Post Permanency Services Workgroup

Details: The Post Permanency Services Workgroup is developing recommendations for post-permanency support services in California. A national technical assistance provider is partnering with the CDSS and our Post Adoption Services providers, families and non-profits to develop a model of Post Permanency Services support for California.

IHSS Career Pathways

Details: The Adult Programs Division, along with stakeholders, will discuss proposed training opportunities for IHSS providers that assist with the development of a culturally and linguistically competent workforce to meet the needs of an ever-growing diverse population of IHSS recipients, increase provider retention to maintain a stable workforce, and improve the overall quality of care and health outcomes for IHSS recipients.
