Assistance Dog Special Allowance Program

Who is it for?

The Assistance Dog Special Allowance (ADSA) program provides a monthly payment of $50 to eligible persons who use a guide, signal, or service dog to help them with their disability-related needs. The allowance is to help pay the costs of food, grooming, and health care for the dog.

How to Apply:

If you are a resident of California, receiving Supplemental Security Income (SSI),State Supplementary Payment (SSP), In-Home Support Services (IHSS), orCash Assistance Program for Immigrants (CAPI) benefits, please complete the following application: ADSA 1 application, ADSA 1 (Spanish)

If you are receiving Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) benefits, please complete the ADSA – SSDI Recipients (Form ADSA 1B), ADSA 1B (Spanish) and attach a benefit statement from the Social Security Administration.(More information about eligibility)
