Community First Choice Option (CFCO)
The following information is to inform you of the stakeholder process for the new Community First Choice Option (CFCO) program. One requirement of CFCO is to have a Development and Implementation Council, the stakeholder process will occur through this Development and Implementation Council.

Submission of the May 2013 CFCO SPA 13-007
After collaboration with the Development and Implementation Council on March 14th (see meeting information below) and the Department of Health Care Services (DHCS), CDSS finalized the CFCO State Plan Amendment (SPA) and forwarded it to DHCS for final submittal May 3, 2013 to the Department of Health and Human Services, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). CFCO SPA #13-007 We hope to have this SPA approved by July 1, 2013, but are currently awaiting approval.

Submission and Approval Process of the December 2011 CFCO SPA 11-034
After collaboration with the Development and Implementation Council on November 17th (see meeting information below) and the Department of Health Care Services (DHCS), CDSS finalized the CFCO State Plan Amendment (SPA) and forwarded it to DHCS for final submittal December 1, 2011 to the Department of Health and Human Services, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). - Upon submission of the SPA, as mentioned above, the All County IHSS Program Manager Letter (December 2, 2011) was released announcing Community First Choice Option (CFCO).
