Item 95-10-01P
CDSS ACL 95-23 -- June 2, 1995 (Synopsis): Edwards v. Carlson

Refers to the implementation of the Edwards v. Carlson United States Supreme Court decision. This decision overturned lower court decisions and held that California can require all eligible persons living in the household be part of one Assistance Unit (AU) when there is one caretaker relative. This letter allows counties to combine non-sibling AUs into one AU when there is one caretaker relative.
