Notes from the Training Bureau - March 11, 1998

Two new SLMB programs have been authorized that will permit Medicare recipients to be reimbursed for certain Medicare premiums. One group of individuals, with income between 120% and 135% of the federal poverty level, will be eligible for reimbursement of their Part B premiums. The second group, with income between 135% and 175% of the federal poverty level will be eligible for payment of the Home Health Care portion of Medicare Part A that was transferred to Medicare Part B. Neither group is eligible for any other Medi-Cal program, unlike SLMB beneficiaries who have income between 100% and 120% of the federal poverty level and may also be eligible for Medi-Cal.
