Item 99-05-01I CDHS ACWDL 99-06 -- February 1, 1999 (Synopsis): Bridging Program |
This ACWDL provides implementing instructions for the Bridging program. The purpose of the Bridging program is to provide an extra month of $0 share of cost full scope Medi-Cal coverage for eligible children between age one and 19 who would otherwise have a share of cost in the month immediately following a period of full scope, $0 share of cost Medi-Cal.
To be eligible for the Bridging program, a child must meet the following requirements:
be between ages one and 19;
be otherwise eligible for the Healthy Families program; i.e. be a citizen or qualified alien without Other Health Coverage whose net family income does not exceed 200% of the federal poverty level;
AND
meet one of the following:
would have a share of cost in the month following the last $0 share of cost month in programs such as the percent programs, AFDC Medically Needy (MN), Blind/Disabled maintenance need, Medically Indigent, or §1931(b) only;
have a share of cost in the month following the last month as an infant in the income disregard program upon reaching age one;
be discontinued from CalWORKs or Edwards and not be eligible for $0 share of cost;
be discontinued from SSI/SSP benefits and no longer eligible for $0 share of cost under Ramos;
be discontinued from Transitional Medi-Cal (TMC) and no longer eligible for $0 share of cost.
