This Management Bulletin (MB) notifies Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) day care home (DCH) sponsors and agencies, participating in at-risk, afterschool (ARA) meals, of the availability and effective dates of annual Free and Reduced-price Meal (FRPM) data, and any updates to previously posted FRPM data.
The FRPM data is posted on the California Department of Education (CDE) FRPM Data Files web page and in the Child Nutrition Information and Payment System (CNIPS) in the “Download Forms” section of the CACFP module under the “Applications” tab.
The effective date to utilize the data is the month following the availability of the data
. For example, if the data is available on April 10, 2013, the effective date to use the data for tiering determinations or to qualify an ARA site is May 1, 2013. Please note, the date listed on the CDE FRPM Data Files web page is the date the data was posted. The file reflects data from the previous October each year.
To avoid confusion, the name of the FRPM data in the “Download Forms” section of the CNIPS identifies the date that the data is available and the effective date for use. For example, the FRPM data entitled “FRPM 10-April–2013; Effective 05–01–2013” identifies the FRPM data available on April 15, 2013, with an effective date of May 1, 2013.
The Child and Adult Care Food Program Branch will notify DCH sponsors and ARA meal agencies by email when new or updated data is available. Please keep your contact information current in the CNIPS.
Any questions regarding this MB can be directed to the CACFP specialist assigned to your agency. You can find the CACFP specialist contact list on the Child and Adult Food Care Program Contact List or in the Download Forms section of the CNIPS as Form ID CACFP 01.
