Session Description

Session 1: 12-Month Eligibility

9 a.m.–11 a.m.

Lead Agencies must demonstrate how low-income working parents are protected by ensuring a 12-month minimum period of eligibility regardless of changes in income or temporary changes in the working, education or training status of the parents as long as the family’s income does not exceed 85 percent of the State Median Income for a family of the same size. [CCDBG 658E(c)(2)(N)(i)(I)]

Session 2: License Exempt Monitoring

Each State is required to certify it has in effect licensing requirements applicable to child cares services provided within the State, and to provide a detailed description of such requirements and how such requirements are effectively enforced. [CCDBG (658E(c)(2)(I)(i)]

Session 3: Professional Development

The State shall describe the training and professional development requirements that are in effect within the State designed to enable child care providers to promote the social, emotional, physical and cognitive development of children and to improve the knowledge and skills of the child care workforce. Such requirements shall be applicable to child care providers that provide services for which assistance is provided. [CCDBG 658E(c)(2)(G)]

The above listed remote hubs were the only sites provided with log in information for the sessions on October 8, 2015. Participants listened via a phone connection, where there was also the opportunity to speak, and share comments about the specific session.

Public comments were shared via the phone during the October 8, 2015, Topical Sessions, typed into the text box during the session, or sent via email to statepln@cde.ca.gov . Public comment opportunities will be available again on January 12, 2016.
