CalWORKs Training Academy

The CalWORKs Training Academy is a biennial conference that focuses on innovative and effective ways to support the program bringing together relevant, empowering strategies to CalWORKs partners from throughout the state featuring about 500 state and county partners.

In the interest of equity and expanding access to as many interested parties as possible, the last two conferences have had a virtual component, in 2023 the conference was fully hybrid with all portions live streamed and in 2021 the conference was fully virtual. Continuing in the spirit of equity, the CTA in 2025 was hybrid and focused on how to continue forward engage with the whole family centering resilience and remaining grounded during times of hardship.

As CalWORKs moves forward in protecting the vulnerable in uncertain times, we seek to be intentional in developing strategies that support the whole family while acknowledging and addressing barriers.
