Data Measures

The CQI Framework centers around the experience of children and focuses on the quality of care provided. The framework works to ensure children feel cared for and are connected to family and organic support while in congregate care settings. Data measures that help to explore if a program is trauma informed and meeting the needs of children include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Lengths of stay
  • Overstays
  • Placement disruptions, re-entry, or dismissal
  • Lack of services, including Child and Family Team meetings, timely transitional planning, and Qualified Individual assessments
  • Reports of a high number of Law Enforcement Contact Reports
  • Reports of a high number of Serious Incident Reports
  • Revocation of a mental health plan approval and/or county contract
  • Multiple violations of Youth's Personal Rights

By leveraging existing data, the CQI Framework aims to analyze measures and provide information to help inform decision makers to incrementally improve the quality of care that children and young people receive.
