Date of Family Language Instrument (CDD-801A Only)
This refers to the date on which the Family Language Instrument (FLI) was completed for the child.
Where to Find It:
Indicated on the Family Language Instrument or listed in the child’s file.
Rules and Guidelines:
- This field is only required for center-based CCTR and center-based CMIG programs. All other programs must leave blank.
- Must be formatted as MM/DD/YYYY.
- If the child is dually enrolled in TK/K and are determined to be a Dual Language Learner (DLL) based on their English learner designation in the TK-12 system, please leave this field blank.
- If a child was enrolled in a center-based CCTR or center-based CMIG program prior to July 1, 2025, has not yet been recertified, and does not have a completed FLI, please leave this field blank. As a reminder the FLI must be completed at the time of enrollment or recertification. For these children the FLI must be completed when that child is recertified into the program.
- This field must be left blank during non-DLL reporting months.

- Assembly Bill 393 (2023) codified Welfare and Institutions Code 10209.6 , center-based General Child Care and Development Programs (CCTR) and center-based Migrant General Child Care and Development Programs (CMIG) must begin collecting data on the number of DLL children, language characteristics of the CCTR or CMIG program, and language composition of the CCTR/CMIG program, and program staff. Please refer to the Child Care Bulletin 25-13 for more information.
