Frequency of Non-English Language Used by Lead Teacher and/or Program Staff with Children (CDD-801A Only)

This refers to how often staff use non-English languages when interacting with children. It helps assess how home language support appears in the child care settings.

Where to find it:

There may not be a centralized location to find this information, each program may be different as each lead teacher and program staff may use different languages with children with varying frequencies.

Rules and Guidelines:

  • This field is only required for center-based CCTR and center-based CMIG programs. All other programs must leave blank.
  • This information field is required.
  • Five valid entries:
    • 1 - Never 
    • 2 - Rarely (less than once a week) 
    • 3 - Occasionally (1–2 times per week) 
    • 4 - Frequently (3–4 times per week) 
    • 5 - Daily (5 or more times per week) 
  • Do not include a leading zero.
  • This field must be left blank during non-DLL reporting months.

  • What do I report if the lead teacher and/or staff do not use any Non-English Languages when interacting with the children?
    • If staff do not use any Non-English Language, Report 1: Never.
