Food Stamp Exclusion of Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF) Vendor Payments for Housing

MPP §63-502.2 refers to vendor payments that are excluded as income. The federal Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) is revising current federal regulations to include as exempt income any housing assistance provided through a state or local housing authority paid directly to a vendor on behalf of a household. MPP §63-502.2(b)(2) will be revised to reflect this revision.

Housing assistance payments received by the household are counted as unearned income per MPP §63-502.141.
