TrustLine is California’s registry of in-home child care providers who have been through a criminal background screening and clearance process. A background check discloses information about any criminal history that a potential child care provider may have. This means they have no disqualifying criminal convictions or substantiated child abuse reports in California.
TrustLine is administered by the CDSS Community Care Licensing Division (CCLD) Caregiver Background Check Bureau and the California Child Care Resource and Referral Network.
The TrustLine Web-based Application System (TWA) system provides the county welfare departments and authorized users the ability to enter applications online after the provider applicant provides proof of getting fingerprinted at a live scan site. This process is for applicants who want to become a TrustLine-registered child care provider.
