2018 Child Abuse Prevention Month
April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month. This is a time when we can all get together and work towards preventing child abuse and neglect and to promote happy, healthy, stable, children and families.
During the month of April and throughout the year, The Office of Child Abuse Prevention and the California Department of Social Services encourages organizations to promote child abuse and neglect prevention across California.
Show your support by participating at our event at the Capitol listed below.
The OCAP and The Child Abuse Prevention (CAP) Center are hosting “Kids Day at the Capitol” on Thursday, April 19, 2018 on the West Side of the California State Capitol from 10 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The event will include guest speakers, performances and various activities for youth and children. Numerous statewide public agencies and their partnering organizations will host individual booths providing information about programs, services and resources that strengthen families. More than 1,000 attendees from across the state are expected: parents, teachers, legislators, prevention advocates, business community members and most importantly, California’s kids! For more information, to reserve a booth or to provide a child/family activity, please contact OCAP at Kidsdaycapitol2018@gmail.com.
