The Office of Child Abuse Prevention (OCAP), in partnership with the Child Abuse Prevention (CAP) Center would like to invite you to join us for Kids’ Day at the Capitol on Thursday, April 11, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. on the West Lawn of the Capitol. Parent Leadership and CAN Prevention Awards

The Office of Child Abuse Prevention (OCAP) would like to honor not only parents for the work they dodo to improve their communities but also to recognize community-based organizations throughout California for their dedicated efforts to providing programs and services to prevent child abuse and neglect. Therefore, the OCAP will present awards to parent leaders and community based organizations at the Second Annual OCAP Parent Leadership and CAN Prevent Awards.

Nomination Deadline is between February 1 and March 8, 2019 by 5:00 p.m. Winners: Will be notified on March 22, 2019 and honored at the 2019 Kids' Day at the Capitol event on April 11, 2019.

Kids' Art Contest

We're inviting kids to participate in the First Annual Child Abuse Prevention Month Kids’ Art Contest. This is open to children and youth in the following categories:K-2nd, 3rd-6th, 7th-8th and 9th-12th. This year’s theme for the contest is “Community in Unity!” Entries will be due on March 22, 2019.
